Sunday

Head over Healys!

Never in my life have I seen a baby with so much hair! This little guy has already had at least three hair cuts and he is only seven months! So I was so excited to get my camera on him, and his family!

See what I mean? It is like they should do hair commercials!

Of course we got rained on, and I stepped in stinging nettle (which really does sting!)

But we got some great pics! And had a good time!

And in the end, that is all that matters! Thanks again B&B! I had a blast!

Friday

I {heart} Fall!

And fun happy families to photograph!

Lovely

Monday

Oh Baby!

There is nothing like seeing a brand new baby girl! Especially one so small and sweet!

I couldn't help but think how huge my baby is now!

Oh how fast they grow!

And turn in to these! Fun big kids!

Thanks for the shoot Sherri! I had a blast!

Thursday

Look Out World!

Sometimes you get great hair, and sometimes you get great light.....And sometimes you get great referrals from great friends and you get an awesome girl to photograph!
This was such a fun shoot! I loved being able to talk with a girl with her whole life a head of her and with so much ambition it is going to be a great life! So look out world because here she comes!

I mean really how easy was my job for this shoot? She is amazingly beautiful and knows where to look and how to look and how to smile with her eyes! (thank you Tyra Banks!)

We didn't get a drop of rain during the shoot but after we were done it poured the whole day! I really can't think of any other way I like to spend my time more!

It is going to be hard deciding which head shot to send out! But best of LUCK K! You deserve it!

Friday

How How How I love these Howeys!!!

Lets be honest I love getting together with my family, but I also love taking pictures of my sisters family! And after eight years of doing it my sister learned how to pose! You go Er! Hot mama!

This was the last day at the ranch and everyone had just showered and smelled so nice that they were eaten alive! The bugs were so bad we all went home with red spots!

I don't mean to be bias but have you ever seen more beautiful children? I mean aside from mine own I haven't! No really though...

Sadly my scratch disk is full and it is late, Eryn you can see more later! Love you!

Tuesday

Gone Country

About 15 years ago while driving through the middle of no where Wyoming we stopped to get some lunch at a diner. And while sittin in that diner my dad said lets go have a look at some property for sale. We all of course smiled and went along with him thinkin there was no way he was going to buy this here property.

Well sure enough he did buy that property and for the last fifteen summers of my life we have gone there and enjoyed every, well almost every minute of it!

course now there are bugs, and frogs, and rock chucks and beavers and I am sure a whole lot more critters I don't really want to think about, but there is good stuff too..

Like ridin four wheelers and horses and tractors. Smashin pennies on the rail road tracks and floatin the river.

Now a days theres even runnin water and hot stove! A porch to sit and watch the sun set on.

Most of all there is bein with family and spending time together!

So thank you "bill fribe" for buying that piece of land and lettin us spend time there and make our mark on it!

Thursday

Dear Stacy

I love taking pictures of Stacy! We have been through a lot together and whenever we get together it usually turns into a photo shoot! (blame the years of photo school if you will!)

Stacy is actually the one who started my mothers series for me see those here

Round two was just as fun!

So for you Stac! Thanks for being such an awesome friend and a wonderful mom!

Love you!

Sunday

Go On, Be Petty

This family was so fun to photograph! Thanks so much for the session! I had a great time!

We went down to Historic Leesburg! It was a great setting, even if there was a little bit of rain!

These twin kids were so so cute! They had no fear whatsoever!

Yep twins!

Look at this head of hair! He was so funny! You should see the the facial expressions I got out of him! Well I guess you can :)

Loved this yellow door! It was perfect!

Mixin it up a little...

And a big hug from your brother!! Who wouldn't love these two?!

Monday

Leaving on a Jet Plane

So we are headed to Utah in the next few weeks and I have been worried about kiddo's on the plane. Granted when we flew to London last year Jo did amazing! But two kids might make it much harder! So I looked around on blogs and found a Brassy Apple blog with car trip ideas. So I went and made Jo a whole bunch of photo albums! She always want to look at pictures on the computer and I thought some she could carry with her would be fun! And this way maybe she won't miss her daddy so much!

Fathers Day Special

SATURDAY JUNE 13TH Starting at 9am
Come get your perfect father's day gift! What dad wouldn't want pictures of their kids, or wife, or wife and kids, or even a family pet! :)

Tuesday

I love these chubby legs!

Wednesday

Mothers Day

All I wanted to do on Mothers Day was take a few pics of me and my boy! Nothing in the world compares to holding you little baby in your arms! I love this babe and I love being a mom!

From Brooklyn to Sydney

My good friend had her baby just a week after Jackson was born! I think we have a little match already. :)

Tuesday

My Boy

There are a lot of things I didn't expect when I had a boy. Like learning to duck and cover everytime I change his diaper. Or how much fun dressing a little man can be. Mostly I just didn't realize that boys are just boys no matter what age! And this one is just like his dad! Mellow, and oh so handsome!

Friday

Living in The Now!

Needless to say I am taking a little time off and enjoying my new little guy! I can't believe I now have two kids! I do however believe how much they love each other! There is no bond like family! I am so glad these two have each other!

Saturday

The New Man in My Life!

He arrived happy and healthy on March 2nd 2009!
Plenty more pics to come!

Thursday

Three Guys and A Girl

Its not every day I get to take pics of a 5 day old newborn! Honestly I have forgotten how tiny they are.. and how fun their big brothers are!

The last one might be my favorite! Congrats! I hope you like the pics!

Wednesday

Monday

How Do They Do It?

I mean really have you seen cuter kids?

And the ones responsible!
Nice work!

The Main Event

This little guy is the main reason for all my travel across the country!
Lucky number four, isn't he sweet?

A few with the whole fam!

Love this one!

Love you Er!

Wednesday

Family Pictures, and more Family Pictures

So if you have ever been to Seattle in the winter you know that days with out rain are few and far between.. Just so happened that the Saturday I had scheduled my 6 family sittings was one of those days! We got so lucky! Sure it didn't get light till after nine and got dark a little before four but hey we used all the light we could out of the day and got some great family photos!!

Sunday

Brothers and Sisters!

Not only is Brothers and Sisters my favorite tv shows but my favorite thing to photograph! There is nothing like having a sister or a brother! Thanks Emily for having such sweet kids, who you can tell really love each other!

Knock, Knock

It is amazing what adults will do to get kids to smile for pictures! Even telling knock knock jokes that make absolutely no sense but make the kids laugh so hard!

I got so lucky! I got the opportunity out to Seattle to see my sister and to take A LOT of family pictures! It was so fun and a little work but totally worth it when you get to take pictures of families as beautiful as this!

These two are seriously still this in love! It is amazing! And so fun to see!

What a good looking family! Cat went out and scouted this spot and it turned out so great!

Good thing it was a warm colored wall, otherwise you would have seen how cold it really was!

The three little men!

Aren't they so adorable!

Thanks Cat we had an awesome time!!

Tuesday

Thankful

To all the men and women who have fought and fight now to defend our freedoms and preserve our way of life. I am lucky to be an American and thankful for it!

Saturday

"I'm Small But I Rock!"

Truer words have never been spoken about these boys! Or this family! They do rock!
I had a hard time choosing between black and white. so here are the black and white and after I talk to S and see which she likes better I will post some color!

I love how they turned out! So fun and simple and WARM! Cold weather had hit the Eastern Seaboard so we are getting creative with our indoor shoots!
Thanks MC fam! As always we had a blast!

Tuesday

Happiest Baby on the Block!

So lucky I got to photograph this little girl! This was the first indoor shoot of the season! (Hopefully many more to come:) But they turned out so cute!
And how could they not with such a happy baby!

One nice thing about indoor shoots is you can dress for all seasons! Start with Christmas end with summer.... Glad I have so many colored chairs! Thanks A! I think they turned out adorable!

Sunday

My Parents

We were lucky enough to get a short but sweet visit from my parents this week!
So I made them sit down and have their pictures taken! You would think with a photographer for a daughter they would be used to it by now!

The were good sports, even if we did get rained on and then saw that there was a tornado warning for later that evening!

I am so thankful for my parents! Being close to Thanksgiving I can really say that is what I am thankful for! They bless my life so much! My mom is my best friend and my dad is the man I always look to for advice. They are my rock! And they just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary! I am really lucky to have their example in my life!

And of course one of Joey. I thought it was pretty, even if her hair is all wet from the rain!

I am going to give my siblings prints of my parents for their Christmas gifts. I wonder if they will ever get sick of getting pictures for gifts.... I hope not!

Monday

My Girl

Fall

While taking pics of the leaves I couldn't resist a few of my little girl!

Finally.... Fall

If some one would have told me a few years ago how much I would enjoy landscape photos, I would have laughed in their faces! In photo school those were the assigments I couldn't stand in the least. Now that I have been lucky enough to have lived in so many beautiful places I can't get enough! Funny how things change as you grow....

Sunday

The District

We finally made it into the District! It was a beautiful day and really fun to just walk around and enjoy some of the sights! Things seem a lot further than they did 10 years ago! I hope this is because of the pregnancy and not the age!

It is an interesting time to be here that is for sure! You can go two steps with out a McCain or Obama something!

Also coming from London you can see where they got their taste for architecture! It was fun to be back in the city, it has been too long!

Good Bye October

Hopefully you got to spend it with as cute of kids as I did!

Thursday

I Love Weddings in the Fall!

I have had a few people ask me lately if I do weddings. Well the answer is yes! And I love them! It is fun to capture the most beautiful photo possible for that day and that couple! But I love turning someones memory in to art. Because isn't that what a photo should do?
Here are just a few from a wedding I shot last fall...

Sunday

Tis the Season

For Family Photos!!
I love fall and I love to take family photos in the fall! There is nothing like the warm vibrant colors to make for a perfect backdrop!

These ones in the hay were easily my favorite and to think we almost skipped them! My sister wanted to do them just in front of the barns and not inside. Luckily she listened to me :) and we got these!

Now I am never one for over blown and over processed photos. I do minimal work in photoshop most everything is done before the photo is taken or in my camera after it has been shot. But I just couldn't resist this one. For some reason it just pulled at my heart and was better off like this than it was originally taken... I don't know maybe it is time to get with the now and start doing actions like everyone else... or maybe not.......

Monday

Back and Back in Biz!

Yeah I am excited to be back! Even for a short time until we move again but at least I get to take a few photos before I go!

I was so lucky get to take these twos photos! This girl is amazing! She works full time and goes to school full time all the while going through and over coming cancer! She is such an inspiration and a great friend! As for her husband what can I say besides easily the nicest guy I have ever known! Every time I am around them I love to watch how they interact. They know each other so well and love each other so much! It is a great thing see and even more fun thing to get to photograph!

Sunday

Good Night London!

We ended our amazing summer in London with a stop at The Tower. It is one place we really wanted to see and so glad we went. It is an amazing structure with so much history!

The White Tower complete with the chopping block they used to behead Anne Boleyn. And Henry VIII armor from the time her was a little boy until right before his death. (he was quite a large man in the end!)

The tower also houses the Crown Jewels which are amazing! The worlds largest diamond can be found there. I just finished reading "the other boleyn girl" and now am wishing I would have paid a little more attention while we were there. Pretty much all the queens of the Tudor period were imprisoned there at one time or another. Such an amazing history.

The bridge was one of my favorite sites in London! It is so beautiful! We rode across it a few time but never walked. I was pretty tired of walking after three months straight of it! But I loved to see it!

We are home now and I haven't missed London until I started to look at these pictures! It is such an amazing place with such culture. I am glad I got to be a part of it, even if it was just for a little while. So we are in transit now, moving from one nations capital to another! Wish us luck!

Friday

Ah The Country!

We were able to head out to the country a last weekend! It was beautiful! Clean air, amazing views and castles! We were able to see two, Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle.

Warwick Castle
This huge fortress dates back to the 11th century and has workers re enacting the time period. You can see jousting, a trebuchet and sword fighting.

The Warwick dungeon
this tiny room under the castle that still showed the markings from the prisoners kept there.

Grave yard in Kenilworth

Kenilworth Castle
This is always how I imagined castles would be. Just the structure remains and it is so beautiful!

Thursday

The English Channel

We headed out to the coast last weekend! I was a bit chilly but fun nonetheless! I love Piers like this! Like Ocean City, I love that place and Brighton is now on my list of favorites! I have always had a thing for Fairs and Carnivals and this one goes year round! What's not to like about that?

I did a series of monochromatic images of the sea while I was in Samoa. I printed them huge on canvas and LOVE them! If I could have an image like this of every sea, that would be something! Two down... how many to go?

The beach! All rocks! Honestly it hurt so bad to take you shoes off and walk on all the pebbles I can't imagine actually spending a day on the beach here!

The seagulls were everywhere! My daughter was obsessed, she kept telling me "bird, high in the sky!" and "birds eat fish!" Which they we doing a little too close to us for my comfort!

And to finish my favorite subject to photograph! My family! You can tell it was a little cold, we all have our jackets on.. Bummer too because I did make us wear coordinating outfits for the trip! My husband is a real trooper!

More Wall Art!

I love trying new things! And I am super excited about how these turned out! The Eiffel Tower will go in my daughter room... when she has her own room again, that is! And the Arc is a little something special for my sister! Hope you like it Ery!

Paris Revisited

Maybe it is having gone to Paris, come back and then going to Paris again.. that I thought maybe I would post a few more photos and a little narration!

The Louvre! Really I was more impressed with the outside than I was with the inside. Not that the Mona Lisa was that great but well.. I had more fun taking images of the outside!

I don't know how this artist managed this amazing sculpture, really it is beyond me! Look at how that veil drapes and that is marble! I mean come on! I was in love!

The one place Kev told me to see was Napolean's Tomb. And he was right! It was really amazing! Maybe my favorite part, this might have been because my feet were so swollen and the marble stairs felt so good to sit on or it was just the beauty of the place. Either way we really enjoyed it!

This is his tomb. It stands 15 feet high and is carved marble, where they found brown marble I don't know but I did enjoy seeing it! They also had a set of his uniform out in a case. He really was so small it is a wonder he had so much power!

We saw the Notre Dame but did not climb the 387 steps. I liked this image, it seems a bit haunted but also fitting for such a place as this.

We did however climb the steps to the top of the Arc. This is an image looking up! It was a daunting task and we had to take a few breaks on the way up, but the view from the top was worth it. another symbol in Paris for Napolean. He was a popular guy... for a while!

Wednesday

Eiffel Tower

The Arch de Triomphe and a little more!

I went to Paris this weekend with my sister and her friend Stephanie. We had a good time but were ready to get back to London. I didn't quite see the city at the one of romance. But it is a fantastic city to photograph!

{click and enlarge for full effect!}
Views from the top of the Arc! It was a beautiful day

The Seine river

The ferris wheel off the Tulleries... and much much more!

Sunday

Getting a little crazy!

I have to say London is so amazing! I am so excited to be here for the summer! We have been to most of the sights and really they are incredible! You see them in pictures and read about them in books, but seeing the real thing is so much better! To fully understand London you have to understand the culture. Where a diaper is a nappy, a restroom is the toilet and an elevator is a lift! Where you are constantly told by a nice British lady to "please mind the gap" and on a rare occasion you even get to see the Queen! It is amazing!

My friend here is having a baby before we leave and we were talking about decorating her Nursery with a London theme. So I came up with these!

I think they turned out really fun and want to do a series of all the countries we go to. A little travel log on canvas for Joey! What do you think!

Tuesday

A Little of London

My favorite landmark to photograph by far! The London Eye. Maybe it is because you see it when you least expect to. And every time I do see it, I think wow! That is amazing!

Sunday

A day for Mothers!

Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there! If you haven't heard I have a thing for photographing Mothers with their children. In my mind there is nothing more beautiful or more fun to watch than a mom interacting with her baby. (because no matter how old a child is, they will always be a moms baby!)

These are a few of the many photos I have taken of me and my little girl. They are so fun for me to look at and think about that day and that age. When all we would do is twirl around and get as dizzy as possible. And when she started to walk by herself. When she would dance at any second she heard a beat. When she finally went to sleep on her own and would wave good bye to me as I would leave the room. Her second Christmas when she really got in to opening gifts and thought it was the best day ever!

These images say these things to me and that is why I love them so much. Why I love Mothers Day and think I am so lucky to be a mother to such a beautiful little girl!

The good Old Days!

I miss the good old old days of Platinum Printing (nineteenth century)! 120 cameras! I miss black and white wet darkroom printing! Smelling like fixer and Kevin telling me I stink! I miss developing black and white film and doing it myself! If I develop my film for too long or overexpose/underexpose there is no easy fix. No photoshop. Just hard work and a lot of filters! or Just re shoot! I miss it!
Who ever thought the switch to Digital would make me so nostalgic!

Monday

You can't come to Aunt Jills...

With out a photo shoot!!
My brother and his wife went out of town for the week and asked me to watch the kids for the day.

So off to the park we went!
And I snapped a few of these!

Cute Kiddos! They are really fun! And Joey has been lovin having kids so play with!
We are always up for a party!

Saturday

For Fun

I took this image of my Brother and Sister in law in front of their house. I guess I should say images, it is like a wheres waldo. Look and see how many times you can see the mom and dad and how many times you can see the kids!

I set up my tripod and took multiple images of them moving to different locations, interacting with each other and some when they weren't looking. Then I took them in to photoshop and added layer and layer until it turned out something like this. I love the way it turned out because to me it is a look in to their real life. Their kids are so active always doing something. I think this family portrait is the most true portrait I could take of their family.

This was a fun project. Stay tuned I think I will do more like it!

Tuesday

These boys!

I love these boys! Can you believe my sister is so lucky!
Thank the heavens!

Sunday

What a Bautiful Boy!

Here are a few shots I took of my sisters beautiful baby boy Elliot!

He is such a great baby! He loves his bink and loves to be awake and look around! So the opposite of Jowin, she cried every second she was awake.. What this must be like!

And here is a cute birth announcement a made for her! I might be a little to fancy but I think it turned out nice.

Wednesday

We Like to Party!

When Stacy saw the pics of me and Winnie on my bed she really wanted some of her and Crew. So Win and I went to Stacy's today and took these lovely images! I think you can tell a lot about a person by their bed! Isn't it where we spend most of our time? Where we get the most important thing? Sleep!

Could this kid get any cuter?
Stacy painted this wall green and was so nervous about it. But I think it makes a great backdrop!
