Paris Revisited
Maybe it is having gone to Paris, come back and then going to Paris again.. that I thought maybe I would post a few more photos and a little narration!
The Louvre! Really I was more impressed with the outside than I was with the inside. Not that the Mona Lisa was that great but well.. I had more fun taking images of the outside!
I don't know how this artist managed this amazing sculpture, really it is beyond me! Look at how that veil drapes and that is marble! I mean come on! I was in love!
The one place Kev told me to see was Napolean's Tomb. And he was right! It was really amazing! Maybe my favorite part, this might have been because my feet were so swollen and the marble stairs felt so good to sit on or it was just the beauty of the place. Either way we really enjoyed it!
This is his tomb. It stands 15 feet high and is carved marble, where they found brown marble I don't know but I did enjoy seeing it! They also had a set of his uniform out in a case. He really was so small it is a wonder he had so much power!
We saw the Notre Dame but did not climb the 387 steps. I liked this image, it seems a bit haunted but also fitting for such a place as this.
We did however climb the steps to the top of the Arc. This is an image looking up! It was a daunting task and we had to take a few breaks on the way up, but the view from the top was worth it. another symbol in Paris for Napolean. He was a popular guy... for a while!
